A professional website with nothing to pay upfront, then €20/month — when we announce it, the first reaction is often: "where's the catch?" Honest answer: there isn't one, but there is a model. Here's how it works, what it includes, and who it's really right for.
Why the "€0 + subscription" model exists
The traditional model means paying for the site all at once: often between €1,000 and €3,000 at an agency, not counting upkeep. For many tradespeople, shops and freelancers, that's a real barrier: you put the project off for lack of upfront budget.
The subscription flips the logic. Instead of one big initial bill, the cost is spread over time. And it aligns interests: because we get paid every month, it's in our interest to keep your site fast, up to date and useful — otherwise you leave. Nobody wants to deliver a site and then disappear.
What the €20/month includes
The idea is that you have nothing else to plan for. The subscription includes:
- Custom design of the site (not a generic template).
- Hosting and the domain name (your address on .fr or .com).
- The SSL certificate (the https padlock) and security.
- Technical SEO so the site is read properly by Google.
- Updates and your content changes: you send them to us, we apply them.
In other words, the price shown is the real price — no hidden cost that appears three months later.
So, where's the catch? (spoiler: there isn't one)
There's no scam, but there's a logic to understand. It's a service, not buying a custom development worth several thousand euros for €20. Concretely:
- The site, its design, the domain name and hosting are designed and managed by MAIA TECH as part of the subscription (turnkey package): you send us your materials — logo, photos, text — and we handle everything.
- You're under no commitment: you can stop whenever you want, only the current month remains due.
- Truly specific projects — e-commerce, client area, application — fall outside the package and are quoted separately.
Who it's really worth it for
The all-inclusive monthly format is ideal if you're a tradesperson, retailer, freelancer, independent professional or very small business, you want a site that reflects who you are and ranks well, without putting up a large budget or handling the technical side yourself.
It's less so if you need a large online store or a complex business application: in that case, a dedicated quote that frames the scope is the better option.
How much you save in the first year
Let's compare, with ballpark figures. A showcase website at an agency often comes to €1,000–3,000 to build, plus hosting and maintenance afterwards. Against that, the subscription is €0 to start and €240 over the year (€20 × 12), upkeep included.
In the first year, the gap therefore amounts to over a thousand euros — money that stays in your cash flow exactly when you need it most: the launch. Over time, you pay a modest rent for a site that's always maintained, rather than a large sum once for a site that ages.
